Jon Gosselin is a world famous reality TV star who was featured on the hit TLC show “Jon & Kate Plus 8″ with his 8 children and ex-wife. In 2005, Discovery Health aired a show entitled “Surviving Sextuplets and Twins”, featuring Gosselin and his family. The show was a huge hit and the next year Discovery Health aired “Surviving Sextuplets and Twins: One Year Later” to equally impressive ratings. Discovery Health decided to film a reality TV series around Gosselin’s family and entitled it “Jon & Kate Plus 8″. The show aired on Discovery Health for two seasons before moving to TLC and was one of the highest rated reality shows ever. Celebrities know how to be in the news all the time and Jon Gosselin is no exception. Jon, and his wife Kate, married June 12th, 1999, have been in the news almost on a daily basis. Jon or Gosselin and his wife Kate star along side their 8 children in the TLC show Jon and Kate plus 8.
Their 8 children were born using in vitro fertilization. Cara and Mady, the first set of twins, were born on October 8th, 2000. Kate then gave birth to sextuplets on May 10, 2004. The sextuplets are Alexis, Hannah, Aaden, Collin, Leah and Joel.
Up until this year, Jon and Kate have portrayed their marriage as a fairytale to their fans of the show. Kate has written several books on “value based” marriages and several of them have become New York Times best sellers. On June 22nd, 2009, it was announced on their show that the couple would be separating, and that legal proceedings would soon follow. The exact reason for the separation is still somewhat unclear.
Fans of the show have long criticized Kate for the way that she treats Jon and there were also rumors she was having an affair with her bodyguard, known as Mr. Gray. There were also pictures taken of Jon Gosselin which showed him at college parties with Deanna Hummel. Soon after, there were pictures of Jon and Deanna sunbathing at his house in Pennsylvania. It seems Jon and Kate have pointed the fingers back and forth at each other for being the cause of the separation.
Nothing much has been said about who will be caring for the children. There were reports that Jon was apartment shopping in New York City at Trump Place. Kate is still doing her speaking engagements, which she so admittedly refers to as “her job.” It seems the couple are splitting custody at this time, while Jon is away Kate is at the house and vice versa.
Just recently, Jon was spotted with his new girlfriend, Hailey Glassman. She is the 22 year old daughter of the plastic surgeon who gave Kate her free tummy tuck in the early episodes of the show. Jon has also picked up a new habit of smoking as he was photographed in Cannes with Hailey enjoying a cigarette. Jon and Kate have come far in the past 10 years and its a shame to see them separate.
Since the announcement of their divorce, Jon has been seen with multiple 20-somethings all across the US, and even the world.
